Here is a run-down of how Camp Away from Camp is structured. We intentionally varied the types of activities and the medium in which they are delivered to meet the needs of both the camper and your family. This schedule is just a recommendation, the only thing that is at a set time are the live Zoom sessions.
The Dates
Because of budget and logistical constraints, we are only able to accept a limited amount of campers. Because of this, we have implemented an Application Process and will accept campers on a first come-first serve basis. You will be notified within the week if your camper is accepted. Each camper can participate in one session. Session choices are listed below. Click Here for information on cost and how to apply. Campers must apply by TBA.
These were 2020 Dates, 2021 TBA:
The Bags
Each registered camper will receive a bag stuffed with camp goodies plus all the materials needed to participate in each activity for the week. At the end of summer, campers will receive a second bag that includes rewards for participating during their session. Check out both bag contents here.
Camp Clubhouse
Each camper will recieve a Golden Ticket that will give them the super secret password to the Camp ClubHouse. The Camp ClubHouse is a website where campers can find weekly and daily schedules as well as all downloadable instructions, pre-recorded videos, reminders for Facebook Live events and a link to join our Band.com group.
Delivery Mediums
PrintAll activity instructions will be printed and delivered to campers along with the materials required to complete the activities. These instructions will also be made available in the 'Camp Clubhouse' to download and print if you need to. Campers can complete activities at their leisure. When camper's share pictures of their creations or of themselves doing the activities in our Band.com group, they will earn points for camp bracelet badges.

Pre-Recorded VideosCamper's will have exculsive access to pre-recorded instructional videos so you can play, pause and complete the projects easily. In addition, there will be pre-recorded video demonstrations of some favorite camp activities that campers can view whenever they like!

On occasion, we will be having Facebook Live events. Campers will be able to ask questions or send in questions ahead of time to earn points for camp bracelet badges. These events will be public. Campers can also tag @eastersealsnebraska in photos of themselves doing activities to earn points towards camp goodies.

Camper's will have exculsive access to a Band.com group. Band is similar to Facebook Groups, but is a bit safer for campers to use. Camper's will be able to submit pictures & videos of themselves doing activities to earn points towards camp bracelet badges. In addition, camper's will be able to engage with each other by commenting on posts from other campers. Select project or activity photos that campers share in Band will be showcased on our public Facebook page.

Zoom
Each day we will be offering a live Zoom event in the evening that will last 1 - 2 hours. Camper's will have the opportunity to spend time with Camp Counselor's and make new friends with campers.
Types of Activities
DIYDIY Activities are activities like crafts, cooking, sensory, and experiments that campers can do from their home using the supplies we provide. (Household supplies such as glue, tape, and scissors won't be provided).

Example Schedule
Below is an example weekly schedule. Both the weekly schedule and daily schedules will be posted in the Camp ClubHouse. All schedules are just a recommendation, the only thing that is at a set time are the live Zoom sessions.
Participation Rewards
Campers have the opportunity to earn rewards for participating and engaging in the Camp Away from camp program.
Campers will be split into teams during the week. During the week, each camper has the opportunity to earn points towards camp gear for themselves and their team. The more the camper participates, the more points and rewards they can earn! To learn about what rewards camper's can earn, check out what comes in campers' second bag here.
We hope these incentives will be motivating for campers to try new things, get outside, and make new friends.
