JOB TITLE: Camp Counselor

​Working as a Camp Counselor will truly be a life-changing moment - that's because it is unlike any other job you have ever had! Position Overview:
The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for conducting and/or assisting with an awesome variety of individual and group core and non-core programs in a safe, stimulating and comfortable setting. Additionally, he/she will assist with activities of daily living and be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants under his/her care. Typical duties include:
  • Conduct and assist with camp programming activities (archery, fishing, canoeing, swimming, high ropes  course, horseback riding, outdoor games, crafts, etc.)
  • Provide personal care to participants (dressing, bathing, changing, lifting, transferring)
  • Develop and maintain effective, positive relationship with campers, families and staff
  • Model and mentor respectful interactions with participants
  • Promote a healthy atmosphere and respond to the safety of participants accordingly

Training, Dates & Location: 2021 Dates will be announced soon, below was our 2020 plans. 
Pre-camp training begins May 21st. Pre-camp training allows counselors to become acquainted to camp, master programming activities, learn about policies and procedures, get to know other counselors and focus on positive team building. 

Full summer counselors must be able to attend training, May 21-29 and work until July 31, 2020.
Short term summer counselors must be able to attend training, May 21-29 and work July 6-23, 2020.
Requested days off are allowed and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

Overnight Camp sessions are held Sunday afternoon - Friday morning. The first overnight session begins May 31, 2020.

Overnight Camps are held at Camp Eagle in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska. It's located 10 minutes from the mid-size town of Fremont, which hosts a hospital, several restaurants and a Walmart. Camp is roughly 30 minutes from Omaha and 50 minutes from Lincoln, Nebraska's two largest cities.

​Benefits:

Pay: Compensation is $420 per week, roughly equaling $3,700 per summer!
Room: Stay in staff and cabin housing throughout the summer. Housing is rustic but is air conditioned with wifi, kitchen and a free washer/dryer available.
Board: Food is provided when camp is in session, leftovers are available on weekends.
Training: We provide a week long extensive training so you feel comfortable with each and every aspect of the position: lifts, personal cares, camper behavior & camp activities.
Internships: If your college/university requires you to complete an internship, we will work with you to complete the process and appropriate paperwork upon hiring date.
Generous Time Off: A two hour break for each counselor is allotted daily when camp is in session. Camp Counselors will have 48 consecutive hours off on the weekend.

​JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse

Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for promoting health and safety of all campers and staff through prevention, daily health care, scheduled treatments and emergency care. Typical duties may include:
  • Review health records & become familiar with the treatments, medications, diseases/disorders, surgeries and dietary needs of each camper.
  • Collect camper medication, review documented information, and complete a brief physical check upon camper arrival. Distribute medications on camper departure.
  • Follow health care policies/procedures as directed and maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to state and ACA standards.
  • Organize, maintain, inventory and request appropriate health supplies and equipment.
  • Lead or assist in orientation sessions concerning health and safety precautions and procedures, health and social needs, risk management an emergency procedures.

​JOB TITLE: Medication Aide

Position Overview
The Medication Aide is responsible for administering prescribed medications, promoting health and safety within the camp community, and completing/assisting with other nursing tasks assigned by the Registered Nurse (RN) as allowed by state law. Additionally, he/she may support the counselor role, lending a hand with lifts and transfers, serving and cleaning up after meals, and interacting with campers at programming areas.
Additional Information:
  • On site, adult only housing can be arranged.
  • Food is provided while camp is in session.
  • Optional, but highly encouraged camp faciliator training available!
  • While prior experience and a CNA licensure is preferred, it is not required.
  • Primary season is May 21 - July 31, 2020.
