Camp Counselors are more than a fleeting summer memory. They are the HEART of Camp Easterseals Nebraska! They are a self-less, enthusiastic, compassionate, do-it-all super-hero. For real, only a person with a big heart like theirs can make the mind blowing, life changing, memory making impacts that our Camp Counselors do. It doesn't matter if you've never spent a lot of time with someone who has a disability. If you have the willing hands, the desire to serve others, and a little pep in your step, we will train and support you to provide the most epic summer of your camper's lives!
Working as a Camp Counselor will truly be a life-changing moment - that's because it is unlike any other job you have ever had! Schedule & Commitment
For 2022, we are excited to provide a flexible schedule where staff can sign-up to work sessions of their choosing.

- Flexible, only work what you are able to
- Staff can choose to work anywhere from 4 to 44 hours per week. The amount of hours depends on the program session(s) you choose to work. The only exception to this is staff training (see above for dates).
- Summer season is second week of June - first week of August.
- Remote working hours are available for our camp at home program.
- If working overnight sessions, staying the duration of the session and sleeping overnight in camper cabins is required.
- Professional and effective communication to leadership staff is required if ill or needing to change schedule commitment.

Board: Meals provided for overnight sessions and select day camp sessions. Snacks are provided for most other sessions. Training: We provide an extensive training so you feel comfortable with each and every aspect of the position: lifts, personal cares, camper behavior & camp activities. Internships: If your college/university requires you to complete an internship, we will work with you to complete the process and appropriate paperwork upon hiring date. Flexibility: You choose which sessions you can work; ranging from 4 to 44 hours a week. |

Paid RN positions - Casual position 2022
Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for promoting health and safety of all campers and staff through prevention, daily health care, scheduled treatments and emergency care. Typical duties may include:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for promoting health and safety of all campers and staff through prevention, daily health care, scheduled treatments and emergency care. Typical duties may include:
- Review health records & become familiar with the treatments, medications, diseases/disorders, surgeries and dietary needs of each camper.
- Collect camper medication, review documented information, and complete a brief physical check upon camper arrival. Distribute medications on camper departure.
- Follow health care policies/procedures as directed and maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to state and ACA standards.
- Organize, maintain, inventory and request appropriate health supplies and equipment.
- Lead or assist in orientation sessions concerning health and safety precautions and procedures, health and social needs, risk management an emergency procedures.

The Medication Aide is responsible for administering prescribed medications, promoting health and safety within the camp community, and completing/assisting with other nursing tasks assigned by the Registered Nurse (RN) as allowed by state law. Additionally, he/she may support the counselor role, lending a hand with lifts and transfers, serving and cleaning up after meals, and interacting with campers at programming areas.
