Volunteer Opportunities
Come join in on the fun at Camp Easterseals Nebraska! We offer flexible volunteer opportunities - whether you have a free hour, day, week or an entire summer, we want YOU! We are always looking for volunteers to fill a variety of roles working with campers, teaching programming activities, and assisting with check in and various roles around camp.

- Volunteers are all background checked
- Must be 15 or older AND be able to work independently without assistance or prompting.
- Must be able to be outdoors in heat.
- Volunteers with physical disabilities are welcome as well as their personal aide if needed (We are unable to provide personal aides for Activities of Daily Living (ADL's)).
- Must complete a 1 hour orientation on Abuse Prevention, Disability Awareness, and Confidentiality prior to volunteering.
Volunteer PositionsNurse/Medical Team Volunteer
Dates: Varies, as needed. Primarily during typical working hours in the Omaha and Lincoln area. Ages: 15+ Skills needed: RN license, ability to work on a computer or ipad and be outside during hot temperatures. Duties: Be on site to assist campers during medical emergencies, ADL's, administer medications, assist with checking campers in and out, just hanging. Camper Buddy Volunteer
Dates: Varies, Volunteer's Choice Ages: 15+ Skills needed: friendly personality, willingness to assist in several camp roles Duties: Camper buddies are paired with campers who enjoy lots of socializing. Buddies participate in activities with campers, encourage campers, and have fun! A counselor will be paired with each Camper Buddy to assist with questions. Picture Taker/Uploader (No professional skills required) Dates: Vaires, Volunteer's Choice Ages: 15+ Skills needed: Basic picture taking using iphone. Tech Literacy that includes downloading/uploading photos into a cloud based service. Duties: Picture Taker Volunteers hang out with campers all day and takes pictures of all the fun, using a camp cell phone camera or a point and shoot/DSLR camera.. Picture Takers make sure that each camper's picture is taken equally relative to all other campers and take pictures showing campers participating in activities or engaging with others. The picture taker will then upload all the best photos into a cloud based service for families to view. Many campers are unable to share with their families everything they did or about their camp friends, Picture Takers provide that voice. This is perfect for teens and adults of all ages! Data Organizer Dates: Volunteer's Choice Ages: 15+ Skills needed: Understand data and conditional functions, expert at XCL and/or Google Sheets, Experience working with Airtable Duties: Create a database template within Airtable that will enable us(or yourself) to transfer large sets of camper data/information from a Google Sheet that has several conditional functions. |
