Cost & Payment Options

Through generous donors, Easterseals Nebraska is able to heavily subsidize each camp session we offer, for each camper in attendance, whether a discount or campership is requested or not.

For example, throughout the past few years, the cost of operating a single 4 day camp session has exceeded $1,400/person. With raising costs of supplies, rent, etc., we expect the true cost of camp to continue to rise.

Because of our donors, we are able to subsidize at least $300 per participant per session regardless of session length, bringing the amount we charge to attend a session down to the price you see listed within the session descriptions and within CampDoc. (This is Price Tier A).

Campers may Privately Pay, use Respite Waiver units, or a Lifespan Subsidy to pay for camp.

Please see the tuition and waiver units of each session here.

We believe camp is for everyone.
When comparing disability serving camps to 'typical' camps (camps that don't specialize in serving disabilities), disability serving camps generally cost more per camper to operate. This is primarily due to the number of staff disability serving camps hire. At Camp Easterseals Nebraska, we staff based on individual camper needs. Some campers can participate in camper groups of 3, 4, or more with just a single counselor while other campers love or need 1:1 attention or supervision from their camp counselor. In addition, some campers need a nurse on site 24/7 due to frequent seizures, tube feedings, or medical cares. Therefore, you will see A LOT more staff on site at Camp ESN than what you might find at other 'typical' camps in the area.

Pick Your Price: Price A, Price B, Price C, or Price D (Formerly called Campership)
In Nebraska, most 'typical' week long day camps and overnight camps (that don't specialize in serving disabilities), range in tuition from $250 - $945. Our goal is to keep the cost of camp tuition as close to what 'typical' camps tuition is, regardless of ability. Therefore, we offer "pick your price" options of Price A, Price B, Price C, Price D (formerly called Campership). ALL camper's sessions, even if you pick Price A (the highest cost), are subsidized from our grants and donors since the true or actual cost of a single session most often exceeds $1,100. Price B and C options further lowers the tuition per session to reflect what it would cost if your child were to go to a 'typical' camp in the area, making it more affordable, especially for campers who don't qualify for waiver. You may choose Price A, B, or C, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. So, no application nor proof of income is required. You pick what you can afford, guilt free! If Price A - C is still unaffordable for you, Price D is an even greater discount but requires an application and proof of income. Price D was formerly called 'Campership.'

Waiver

For campers who have A&D Waiver or DD Waiver, each session has an associated specified 'unit' cost that we will bill the state. All that is required of you is an authorization from your worker and IEP (for DD Waiver). Campers using waiver are also subsidized from our donors and grants as most often, waiver doesn't always cover the true or actual cost of camp, however Camper's using waiver don't pay the difference.
Pick Your Own Price
Even though we subsidize each camper's tuition from the get-go, Easterseals Nebraska also offers a voluntary "Pick Your Own Price" Tiered Pricing Model for tuition fees. In addition, Medicaid waiver is accepted.  This program is made possible by individuals donating to support and subsidize Easterseals Nebraska operating costs. You may choose the tier that is most suitable for your family. It is really an honor system; you pay what is affordable for your family. All campers receive the same experience no matter what they pay.

To receive a discount according to the tier of your choice, simply enter the respective coupon code in the payment section of CampDoc (where you are accepted for the session). If you choose to pay Tier Price A or Campership, no code is needed. If you are able to contribute more than Tier Price A, you will be given the opportunity to donate more. Your generosity makes it so that camp is truly more affordable for those who cannot afford it.

OPTION 1:  Private Pay
  • Cash, credit/debit cards, or checks are accepted.
  • Please pay on CampDoc with credit/debit card or send checks to Easterseals Nebraska, Attn: Amy Ladd, 12565 W Center Road, Omaha, NE 68144.
  • Payment plans are available as long as the full balance due is paid by DATE LISTED IN ACCEPTANCE LETTER.
  • See "Alternative Funding Ideas" section below for ideas to help supplement your tuition.
  • If your camper were to get ill or show symptoms of COVID-19 prior to arrival at camp, we are able to refund you if you choose or hold the funds and roll it over to a future session. To receive a refund, you must contact us at [email protected]. If your camper were to get ill or show symptoms of COVID-19 while at camp, we would pro-rate your camper's session and refund or roll over the remaining balance. There are no refunds for campers who leave camp early due to other reasons aside from illness.
OPTION 2:  Respite Waiver Units
Contact your caseworker to mail us an authorization (A&D waiver) or update an authorization within Therap (DD waiver). Your balance due will be updated in CampDoc once we receive documentation listing the correct dates and units for the session(s) the camper will be attending. In addition, we need all ISP's and Safety Plans provided to us.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure your caseworker sends us the authorization or updates an authorization within Therap. Please let us know if your annual waiver review will delay receipt of the authorization.
  • The amount of units that we need authorizations for are listed within each respective programs session list.
  • If your camper were to get ill prior to camp, we would not bill these units. If your camper were to get ill while at camp, we would pro-rate the amount of units as appropriate.
NOTE: WHEN AT THE PAYMENT SECTION OF CAMPDOC, CLICK 'PAY LATER'. WE WILL CLEAR YOUR BALANCE ONCE WE RECEIVE YOUR AUTHORIZATION. IT IS A TINY LITTLE BOX EASY TO MISS!
OPTION 3: Lifespan Subsidy
  • If you are already approved for Lifespan Subsidy, let us know in advance. We will need to verify your eligibility and amount with the Social Services Worker prior to your camp session
  • Please be sure to bring your billing form to camp so we can bill appropriately after the session.
  • If your subsidy doesn't cover the full cost of the session, you may still apply a Pick Your Price coupon and pay for the remaining balance.
